AFA Zamora was created on March 20, 1996 in the city of Zamora by a group of relatives and friends of Alzheimer's patients, in order to be a spokesperson for the needs and demands of the group they represent, and with the desire to offer responses to the existing problem, prioritizing actions aimed at improving the quality of life of the patient, the main caregiver and his family.

Throughout the foundation’s history  there are have been many issues, the people involved have faced many challenges, all of this pushing for a certain reality, development, deployment, scope and continuous improvement.
