Shopping baskets for the most vulnerable
We finance the “shopping basket” to the most vulnerable in Madrid, derived from schools, NGOs and the Social Services of the City Council on a recurring basis
to avoid the collapse of families.
Raised: 218.180€
We want to provide the weekly “shopping basket” for the duration of the confinement to 450 families who have been hit hardest by this crisis
The health crisis is causing a very deep economic and social crisis. Many families with precarious jobs, submerged consumers, day laborers and all kinds of people who survive the day has led to the abyss due to quarantine and economic slowdown. We want to help the maximum number of families possible to solve a problem as basic as it is eating every day in a recurring way to make them overcome this gap.
Schools, local NGOs and the Madrid City Council derive from families in need and through a system of "gift cards" that will be distributed among families on a recurring basis, they will get the necessary financing to make the weekly purchase. Each family will be given along with the card a number of tools to help organize such as a shopping cart type and weekly menu tips. However, we believe that it is important to "empower" families so that they can manage them.
On the other hand, a team of specialized volunteers will carry out a follow-up and ongoing telephone support. The amount of these cards varies depending on the family members and special characteristics such as having minors who need additional expenses such as diapers.
Allfunds kicks off the project with the contribution of 50,000 euros.
